Visit to Prague with the Mathews September 2002
The cathedral at the Prague Castle.
We don't really know what this was. A hanging human figure in gold above the street. A shop sign?

There's a tiny Andrew.

and Heather and Tressa.
We took a boat cruise up and down the river. It didn't really go anywhere we hadn't been, but it's neat to see things from there. Plus, look at the weather! Perfect.
Well, the perfect weather didn't come out well here... But there's the cathedral, now seen from river-level.
And the famous Charles Bridge.
That was the color of the sky most of the time!
It's almost impossible to see here, but this building was pretty wrecked by floods. The ground floor of a lot of structures was pretty much erased, leaving the foundation and beams and bricks holding it up. The worst hit areas were, unfortunately, the oldest and prettiest buildings near the Charles Bridge (no pictures of this) where the bottom level of buildings were just kind of worn down to standing rubble. They have already made a lot of progress in renovating.
This scaffold for some renovation work was amazing! It seemed to be really haphazardly assembled (look at the way the diagonal peices in the first picture aren't really straight or even), but I guess those guys were ok up there.
