We went down to Munich for the weekend. This was just before the floods of 2002 really hit Germany, so we had mostly just bad weather.
We got to walk around the English Garden, the huge gorgeous park in the middle of the city. Though this first two pictures are from somewhere else in town.
But we got into the mountains one day. Sort of. We took the wrong train and realized at the end that we were not where we thought. Instead of big mountains, we were in the foothills. Probably more our hiking speed anyway, and plus there was a lake.
Of course, it's not German hiking unless you stop for food halfway up the mountain. We had fried potatoes and eggs, and plum dumplings.
Yep, that's the lake. The Tegernsee. That town turned out to be quite wealthy and fancy, too.
