Trip to Koserow, July 2002

We went up to Koserow, a small town on the island of Usedom on the Ostsee (Baltic Sea).

Andrew tentatively tests the waters. The weather was mostly like this: cloudy and rainy. Just like every day this summer in Germany. So much for the sunny beach trip.

Actually, there's some blue sky in this picture. Every day at about 5:00 it would get nice and sunny for about 2 hours. We actually swam in the ocean each day. Man, was it cold in the water.

See! That's actual sun causing that rainbow. The beach was at the bottom of some very steep cliffs. We rented bikes for the weekend and rode along the miles of trails that run along the cliffs from beach town to beach town.

Someone optomisticly set out a whole bunch of Strandkörber on the beach, the beach chairs that are designed to block the stiff wind. On the horizon is Poland.
