Flowy goodness
I'm back from the Doors of Perception 7: Flow conference in Amsterdam. I've got half a notebook full of scribbled notes that I promise to get up here real soon now, and hopefully some sort of coherent summary of it all. (In the meantime, Matt's got his notes online already.)
Matt's already called the conference "usefully annoying". You don't go to Doors for the "annoyingly useful" (not a lot of "I'll put that to work on Monday morning" moments); I think it's good to be annoyed a bit. My own reaction often ran towards "hamburger earmuffs".
It was really great to meet Matt, Dan Hill, Stewart Butterfield, and JC Herz, who gave a great talk. And every time I go to Amsterdam I like it more. Berlin feels like the desolate abandoned space it often is, with too many cars and not enough thought given to the person/street scale.
