Hello there, reader
I was reminded last night by a couple people that, yes, someone occassionally checks into read what I have here. So I'm sorry for not having more interesting stuff to say recently (especially to you potential employers!). Suffice to say, I'm still busy as can be. So very busy. If you check back to stuff I wrote, oh, five months ago, you'll see that being busy wasn't a big problem for a long stretch there, so this is good.
Some small things I thought today: what is it with the continued knee-jerk bile spilling of Usability people on Chi-web against Flash? Almost no matter the context, the word "flash" unleases a wave of hatred. It's as if we were all still seeing new sites every day with "Skip Intro" placed just out of sight. Personally, I've been watching the bookstore shelves in the Flash section to guage the program's popularity. Try it: you'll see that there are hardly any new books on Flash coming out. When this happened to Director, that program's reign was almost over. I'd love to work on a Flash-based application project. I wish that we'd had more time on a recent project to do it in Flash; it would have been so much nicer.
Also, Mexico was amazingly great. What a nice vacation.
