Car misery
As much as it pains me, I think Heather and I are going to have to buy a new car (well, probably a used new car). Our old Oldsmobile's air conditioning compressor's crashed for the third time in two years (including the year in Germany when the car was driven only once a week).
I am not a car person. I care nothing for cars, and wish that I could get away with not owning one. I think I've written in the past that the best thing for me about living in Berlin was that we never, ever needed a car. Even in cold, driving winter rain, I was happy to trudge out to the tram stop rather than drive to work.
Do you like what you drive? Any reccommendations?

Greetings, Andrew -- I am sorry to hear about your car difficulties. The air conditioning on my vw cabrio also bit the dust -- at the start of the summer. Bah! At least I can drive with the top down (though one still needs sunblock :-) Hope you find a good car.
