McCullough On Digital Ground

I hadn't realized that Malcolm McCullough's new book was out: Digital Ground: Architecture, Pervasive Computing, and Environmental Knowing (I think this had been called "On Digital Ground when he referred to it at Doors in 2002; it was a nicer title.)

I've read McCullough's 1998 book Abstracting Craft couple of times and it was a huge influence on Stefan and me when we taught at UT in 2000. Considering how deeply McCullough works the "digital work as craft work" idea, I'm always surprised at how few IAs or interaction designers have read it. To be fair, McCullough specifically describes digital craft practices as those that produce manipulable "objects": craft is the work of a 3D animator here, not a web designer. And AbCraft is a hard book, densely academic and often tedious. He's a good speaker in person, I wish it would come across more in his writing.
