Quick song suggestions
Bought a terrific song yesterday on iTunes: Between the Bars by Madeline Peyroux. It’s a slowly shuffling tune with the judicious use of what sounds like prepared piano over a great bass part. I wondered why it was so unlike the rest of the pleasant-but-bland (to me) album it’s on, then happened to learn that it’s actually an Elliot Smith song (and one that happens to be available for free).
Another great find was Takako Minekawa’s Sleep Song.
