American fascism

Living under fascism, is a sermon written and delivered by a minister right here in Austin, TX. It is the first really serious thing I’ve seen that cogently makes the case that the Bush regime, supported by corporations and the religious right, is implementing a political structure correctly described as a fascist state.

Describing the history of fascism, the author notes “So it is important for us to recognize that, as an economic system, fascism was widely accepted in the 1920s and ’30s, and nearly worshiped by some powerful American industrialists. And fascism has always, and explicitly, been opposed to liberalism of all kinds.”

It’s a long article, but at least skim through the fourteen characteristics of fascist systems. I would really like to move now, please.
