Podcasts

I’ve been listening to some Podcasts lately, thanks to the listening time provided by a stronger-than-usual commitment to taking the bus to work. (This increases my daily commute from as short as about ten minutes one-way to about 35 minutes one-way.)

I have to admit that I find the programs by the superstars of podcasting (Adam Curry, Dawn & Drew, etc.) even worse than I ever imagined. Bad recording quality, inane, less appealing than the worst “what my cat ate for lunch” blog. If anyone can reccommend a really compelling indie podcaster, I’ll give a listen, but for now I’m sticking with these:

I’d like to find some music podcasts, but I don’t actually want ones with full-length songs. What I’d like is someone basically to DJ 30-second or minute-long excerpts of songs I could go back to later. Of course there are about a million entries in the “Music” category of the podcast directory…any suggestions?

It’s basically an MP3 blog with a podcast feed but I’d recommend ScissorKick.

I’ve been helping some local folks consolidate their podcasts for the Austin Podcasting Network. You might check out RadioMike.

Check out Cinema Volta: Daily Ambience for music. It’s at http://www.cinemavolta.com/daily or you can find it in the ‘Music’ category in iTunes, or on Odeo.
