Marginal commentalia

I hate blogging about blogging, especially blogging about new blog features, but this is quite nice. Jack Slocum’s created a really lovely comment mechanism using the Yahoo User Interface libraries. (His example post is actually a little confusing, because it contains screenshots of his own site—you might look at this post instead). I’ve always wished comments would work like this, more like medieval manuscript marginalia, little annotations alongside the body of the content, not listed below it like footnotes.

(BTW, I can’t resist pointing out that my grad school paper is the first Google result for “medieval marginalia”!)
